As human beings we all have a natural impulse to be frightened or scared of certain things.

However, phobias are more than just a fear. They are an overpowering and debilitating fear of an object, place, situation, feeling or animal (i.e. flying, dentists, spiders or needles etc). They are often linked to a certain event in your past that you may or may not remember. They can also be a ‘learned behaviour’ from someone else who is close to you.

When a phobia becomes severe it can be extremely  life limiting and very distressing, in some cases even thinking about the source of a phobia can make a person experience anxiety. This results in associated responses such as dizziness, sweating, nausea and increased heart rate.

Hypnotherapy can be hugely effective and fast acting in helping to overcome phobias without the use of traditional exposure therapy. The number of sessions required depends on the type of phobia you have.

If you would like to discuss your phobia and how hypnotherapy can help you, please contact me for a free Initial Consultation.
